Delhi’s Akshardham Mandir was opened to the public by the President of India, the late Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam.

How to reach Akshardham Temple?

Therefore, tourists can get off from this station and walk to the temple. If you want, you can hire a rickshaw at a low price to go to the temple.
If coming from Yellow Line of Delhi Metro, one has to get down from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station and take Metro train on Blue Line to Akshardham Temple.
Akshardham Temple is about 21 km from Delhi Airport and can be reached in 1.5 hours. The main road from the airport to the temple is on Thimayya Marg.
Tips for visiting Akshardham Temple
- Cell phones, cameras, headphones, etc. are not allowed. There is a dressing room to store the items, but the process takes 30 minutes – 1 hour as one has to fill a form and click a picture with the item.
- Don’t go on a Sunday to avoid the crowds
- Most archaeological sites are closed on Mondays. So make sure you don’t plan to visit Akshardham on Monday
- Wear clothes that cover your shoulders, neck, neck and legs.
- Don’t take a bag with you. Only women’s small bags are allowed after several levels of security checks.
- Bring a pen to fill a form for the dressing room
- Try not to miss the theater in the evening
